Effective Date: September 11, 2026
Help The Hive is not a government agency. We do not determine eligibility for, approve, or issue government benefits.
Help The Hive Technologies Inc ("Help The Hive," "we," "us") provides a consumer website and mobile app. The company was founded by Marcos Leyba.
• Legal entity: Help The Hive Technologies Inc
• Privacy contact: support@helpthehive.com
This policy covers the Help The Hive website and our iOS and Android apps, which are currently in private pre-launch builds.
Decision required before publication: Add the corporation’s state of formation.
• AI meal planning based on your household, preferences, and budget.
• Pantry tracking for what is already in your kitchen.
• Grocery budgeting and price comparisons.
• Information about government benefits programs, including SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, LIHEAP, TANF, and VA programs, plus help pre-filling application forms from your profile.
• Penny, an AI assistant that answers questions across these areas.
The service is informational. Meal suggestions are not medical or nutrition advice, budget estimates are not financial advice, and benefits information is not legal advice or a promise that you will qualify for a program.
Account information: your name and email address for sign-in and account recovery.
• Household and food information: household size, dietary needs and restrictions, meal preferences, and budget ranges.
• Pantry and grocery information: the pantry contents and grocery lists you enter.
• Benefits information: answers you choose to provide, used to pre-fill forms that you review.
• Preferences and feedback: notification choices and feedback you send us.
Device and push-notification tokens, so we can send alerts you request, such as benefits renewal reminders.
• Basic usage information about which features you use, so we can fix bugs and improve the service.
Decision required before publication: Name any analytics software development kit used by the app, or confirm that none will be used at launch.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Help The Hive, including providers of:
Cloud hosting and security
Authentication
Plaid and financial connections
AI processing
Analytics and crash reporting
Communications
Subscription services
If you use a retailer or grocery integration, we may share information necessary to complete the action you request. Help The Hive may also receive affiliate compensation from qualifying referrals or purchases.
The free version of Help The Hive may include advertising. Advertising and analytics providers may receive limited device or usage information, but not the sensitive information described above.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our users or Services, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
Penny can use your profile, pantry, and conversation to provide relevant help.
• Our AI services do not have direct access to our database. They receive only the information needed for your request, and all API keys and secrets stay on our servers—not inside the app.
• AI answers can be wrong. Double-check meal plans against your needs, and do not treat benefits or budget answers as official advice.
We never ask for government-portal passwords or credentials, and we never fill in your signature on any form.
Run the service: generate meal plans, track your pantry, build grocery lists, and send reminders.
• Power Penny: process your profile and questions to generate responses.
• Pre-fill benefits forms only from answers you provided and only for your review.
• Send account verification emails and optional newsletters through Resend. You may unsubscribe from newsletters at any time.
Help The Hive is not directed to children under 13.
Certain features, including financial-account linking and benefit-application tools, may be limited to users age 18 or older.
• Resend: sends account verification emails and newsletters.
• Integrations you choose: Spoonacular may provide recipe data, Kroger may provide store pricing through app-level authorization without requiring a Kroger account, and Instacart may receive an ingredient list for a checkout handoff. We send only what is needed for the requested action.
• Government portals: we never submit an application for you. You review, sign, and submit it on the official portal yourself.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect safety, rights, or the integrity of the service.
• Business transfer: if the company is acquired or merged, information may transfer subject to this policy’s protections.
We never sell your data. We run no ads.
Decision required before publication: Update the service-provider list as integrations go live and identify the hosting provider.
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your information according to the retention periods adopted before launch, except for records we are legally required to keep, such as certain subscription transaction records.
Decision required before publication: Set the account-deletion period and backup-expiration period.
You may:
• See, correct, or export a copy of your data.
• Delete your account and your data.
• Opt out of newsletters and most push notifications.
• Withdraw consent when consent is the basis for processing.
Email support@helpthehive.com to submit a request.
Decision required before publication: Set the target response period for privacy requests, subject to applicable law.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents may have the right to:
• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• Delete and correct personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Help The Hive does not sell personal information.
• Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.
• Receive equal service and pricing when exercising privacy rights.
To exercise a right, contact support@helpthehive.com. We will verify the request and respond within the time required by law.
Decision required before publication: Confirm with counsel whether any analytics or similar technology could qualify as “sharing” under California law before stating that there is nothing to opt out of.
Help The Hive is built for households, and children’s needs may shape a household meal plan. Accounts may be created only by people who meet the minimum age set before launch. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children below that age.
Decision required before publication: Set the minimum account age and confirm the applicable child-privacy threshold with counsel.
We use encryption in transit and at rest, keep secrets server-side, and limit internal access to what is needed. No system is perfect. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
If you use Help The Hive from outside the country where our servers and service providers operate, your information may be processed in those locations.
Decision required before publication: Identify the country or region where the service’s servers are located.
We will post the updated policy and revise the date shown at the beginning. For material changes, we will provide the notice method chosen before launch.
Decision required before publication: Choose whether material changes will be announced in the app, by email, or both.
